Former Miami Dolphins superstar hosts a day of reel fun

Grab your bait and tackle for a day that benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.

The third annual “Channing Crowder’s Bass Fishing Tournament” will take place Jan. 30 at Everglades Holiday Park, 21940 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale.

Crowder, former Miami Dolphins superstar and current host on WQAM, will host the event with Fishing League Worldwide professional Mike Surman.

A “Weigh-In Party” will follow at Alligator Ron Bergeron’s Green Glades Ranch. It will feature food, entertainment, live and silent auctions and the presentation of the tournament’s winners.

For younger anglers, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County will host the “Youth Bass Fishing Experience” Feb. 29 at C.B. Smith Park in Pembroke Pines. Youth will have the opportunity to learn how to bass fish while understanding the importance of teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.

Proceeds of this year’s “Channing Crowder’s Bass Fishing Tournament” will benefit the club’s NFL Youth Education Towns (YET) Lester H. White Club.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County serves children between the ages of 6 and 18, providing an assortment of activities to benefit children in the community. The organization is focused on helping members achieve success through participation in the following core areas: academic success, good character and citizenship and healthy lifestyles.

There is a $10,000 grand prize and more than $20,000 in cash prizes for tournament winners. The cost to participate in the “Channing Crowder Bass Fishing Tournament” is a $250 boat entry fee. This includes two anglers per boat and entrance into the “Weigh-In Party.”
